DMPD 2015: So fresh and so clean
DMPD ist zurück! Nachdem 2014 kein DMPD-Mainevent stattfinden konnte, hatten sich die Macher für die dritte Auflage etwas ganz besonderes überlegt:
Einen Sprung über die Grenze, direkt auf ein ehemaliges Bundeswehrgelände.
DMPD is back! After no DMPD-Mainevent was held in 2014, the crew wanted something very special for the third edition: A jump across the border, straight onto an former Bundeswehr-compound.
Ja, für außergewöhnliche Locations hatte die DMPD-Crew schon immer ein Händchen.
Dass es sich um eine komplette Outdoor-Veranstaltung handelte, wäre prinzipiell ein Nachteil gegenüber der ENKA-Fabrik gewesen, in der 2012 und 2013 die ersten beiden Veranstaltungen stattfanden.
Indeed, for extravagant locations the DMPD-Crew was already known for.
Given the fact, that it was an complete outdoor-event, which theoretically is an disadvantage towards the good ol‘ ENKA-Factory, where 2012 and 2013 the first and the second DMPD held place.
Aber der Wettergott ist offensichtlich ein Stance-Fan und nachdem am Morgen noch ein bis zwei Tropfen vom Himmel auf die polierten Lacke fielen, kam im Laufe des Vormittags sogar die Sonne heraus und wärmte Fahrer und Fahrzeuge.
But the weather god was obviously a stance-fan and after some raindrops fell in the morning on the polished paint jobs, finally the sun began to shine and to warm up drivers and cars.
Wie gewohnt, gab es eine Selected-Area, in der sich Wagen stellen durften, die vorab vom DMPD-Team ausgewählt worden waren. Innerhalb dieser Gruppe galt dann das Prinzip: Wer zuerst kommt, parkt zuerst.
As usual there was a selected area, where the cars could park, that were beforehand chosen by the DMPD-Crew in an selection process. Where to park exactly was a matter of first come, first served.
Das bedeutet, die besten Fotolocations waren schnell belegt.
This means the best photolocations were occupied fast.
Die Markenmischung war gewohnt bunt, wenn auch die meisten Wagen entweder einen japanischen oder deutschen Ursprung hatten (Datsun 260Z und BMW e28)
Die mix of brands was accustomed varied, although most of the cars had an japanese or german origin. (Datsun 260Z and BM e28)
Aber auch einige Exoten hatten sich auf das Gelände gewagt, wie dieser Renault 9 auf BBS.
Nevertheless there were some exotics on the strip aswell, like this Renault 9 on BBS.
Die ehemalige militärische Nutzung des Geländes erzeugte eine besondere Atmosphäre und speziell der allgegenwärtige Beobachtungsturm ließ Assoziationen zu aktuellen Ego Shootern aufkommen.
Laute Geräusche waren seitens der Veranstalter vorab untersagt worden, also waren Begrenzerpartys, Burnouts und private DJ-Auftritte tabu.
Was auch nicht weiter schlimm war, konnte man sich so viel besser auf die Wagen und die Gespräche mit ihren Besitzern konzentrieren.
The former military purpose of the compound created an very special atmosphere and particularly the ubiquitous watch tower led to associations with modern first-person shooter games.
Noise was permitted by the organiser, so Revlimiterpartys, Burnouts or private DJ-sets were tabu.
In my opinion a very good decision, because communicating with the drivers and visitors was made easy.
Ein besonderes Schmankerl hatten sich die DMPD-Macher mit dieser Nachbildung einer Matchbox-Schachtel ausgedacht. Leider waren die Rampen zum Auf- und Abfahren so steil, dass nur selbstzerstörerische Statics oder locker-lässige Airrides (wie dieses e30-Cabrio) die Gelegenheit wahrnehmen konnte.
A very special tidbit was this replica of a Matchbox die cast box, created by the DMPD-Crew. Unfortunately, the ramps to get to and off the box were that much sheer, that only self-destructive statics or easy-peasy airrides (like this e30 convertible) were able to took this opportunity.

Die Dumpd-Crewmitglieder selbst waren auch zahlreich vertreten und sie nutzten ausnahmsweise andere Verkehrsmittel als das Auto, um im Gedränge besser voranzukommen.
The DMPD-Crewmembers werde numerously represented and exceptionally they used other vehicles than cars, to get quicker through the masses.
Übrigens eine Idee, die auch so mancher Gast hatte: Hier ein obercooles Drift-Trike.
By the way an idea, that some of the visitors replicated: In this case with an supercool Drift-Trike.
Er lächelt noch, aber der Blick ist fies: Die Low-Profile-Scheinwerfer verleihen diesem MX5 eine deutlich männlichere Optik.
He’s still smiling, but the look is already mean: The low-profile headlamps of this MX5 gave him an distinct manly appearance.
Floorscraper: Dieser Käfer hinterließ bleibende Spuren auf dem kompletten Gelände.

Zwei Beispiele dafür, wie man einen e36 „richtig“ macht: Farbe, Felgen, Tiefe, Anbauteile, alles top.
Two nice examples of e36, which ticked all the right boxes: colour, wheels, stance and body parts, everything on the point.
Aber auch die Marke Nissan wurde gut vertreten: Z33, R32 GT-R, S14a und noch ein altbekannter R32 GT-R. Jeder anders, alle cool.

Wie bei bisher jedem DMPD, war auch 2015 die VAG-Fraktion die stärkste. Um aus der Masse herauszustechen, ist dann natürlich entsprechender Aufwand nötig. Von oben nach unten: Passat Variant „Taxi“, Golf I Silberfisch, Audi TT auf Ispiri Wheels und ein JDM-Golf R32 (ja, auch in Japan gibt es Wagen mit serienmäßiger Linkslenkung) und zwei weitere Passat, ebenfalls in der Variante „tief“.
The VAG-cars were numerically superior again. So to be really unique it takes a lot of of effort. Top down: Passat Variant „Taxi“, Golf Mk. 1 „Silverfisch“, Audi TT on Ispiri Wheels, an JDM-Golf R32 (LHD and JDM, thats no hoax) and two more Passant in the variant „low“.
Honda ist eine faszinierende Marke: Standfeste Hochdrehzahlmotoren, FWD oder RWD und seit Neuestem auch Turbo (Civic Type-R). Von oben nach unten: Stilvoller Accord, S2000-Kompressor, Civic-Kanjo-Racer, S2k auf schönen Felgen und dazu ein ganz besonderer CRX del Sol, dessen Motor (und Antrieb) ins Heck wanderte und auf dem Weg dorthin direkt noch einen Turbo verpasst bekam. Warum? Wie gesagt, Honda ist eine faszinierende Marke…
Honda is a fascinating car brand: Stable, highreving engines, FWD or RWD and as of late Turbos aswell (Civic Type-R). Top-down: Classy Accord, S2000-Supercharger, Civic-Kanjo-Racers, S2k on nice rims and last but not least a very very special CRX del Sol, who had the engine and powertrain transplanted to the rear and while beeing on the journey a turbo joined the team. But why? Like I said, Honda is a fascinating car brand…
Die vollkommen relaxte Atmosphäre war ansteckend. Auf dieser Caddy-Pritsche machten es sich gleich vier Gäste gemütlich. 😉
The completely relaxed atmosphere was contagious: On this platform of a Caddy four visitors made themselves at home. 😉
*DMPD skurril: Skateboardfahrende S-Klassen, Skoda Rapid mit tierischer Alarmanlage und eine S13 mit einer Lösung für das Bosozoku-Auspuffproblem (Regen), offensichtlich beim Truck-Stop abgeschaut.
Dies sind nur einige Beispiele für die Vielfalt der Fahrzeuge, die beim DMPD 2015 vor Ort waren.

Bis dahin bleibt mir nur ein kurzes Fazit zu ziehen: DMPD 2k15 – So fresh and so clean
*DMPD quirky: Skating S-Class, Skoda Rapid with an animalistic car alarm and an S13 with a one-of-a-kind-solution for the known Bosozoku-Exhaust-Struggle (rain), obviously inspirated by the nearest Truck-Stop.
But these are only a few examples for the variety of the cars, participating at DMPD 2015.
